A brand refresh for a beloved local gem and love-letter to a personal favorite spot during my college years. Cozy, welcoming, and family-owned, the Yellow Dog Bookshop inspired me to design for a local bookshop that feels like home to a whole community.
This refresh is intended to refine what is already unique about the beloved Yellow Dog Bookshop, polishing the business’s friendly, welcoming and home-grown brand as it establishes itself as a permanent fixture in Columbia, MO culture.

A self-described “local mom-n-pop bookshop”, Yellow Dog Bookshop serves book-lovers of all ages in the Columbia, MO area, whether they’re kids first discovering their love of stories, a college student exploring new horizons, or seasoned adventurer of well-worn pages. Yellow Dog sits in the heart of downtown Columbia, MO, where it buys and sells used books, and offers a little magic ‘you didn’t know you were looking for’ between the shelves. It is a welcoming and inclusive space, and has become a staple for book-lovers in the community of all ages.
